I'm Jasmine. I write about keyboards, NixOS, self-hosting, and whatever else I'm working on.

I'm studying IT at the University of New England, working toward a computer science degree. My career goal is embedded systems. That's why you'll see a lot of keyboard firmware and hardware work here. I type on Canary layout using a Ferris Sweep and run my setup on NixOS with Neovim and XMonad.

I run @sajkbd as a side project, building custom split keyboards from scratch. 3D printing cases, handwiring, soldering, firmware, the whole thing. Currently experimenting with Dactyl Manuform variants (RGB, trackball integration, PCB vs handwire, finishing techniques) to nail down a professional-quality build.

This blog is mostly documentation for problems I've solved. If it helps someone else, great. If you're into mechanical keyboards, Nix, functional programming, or running your own services, you might find something useful here.
